Yeah, but we already got the 4-cylinder 3-series wagon here for a while, too. The C43 is a whole nother beast. Last time t he US got the top non-AMG/M engine in a wagon must have been what? The C320 of the early 2000s? I guess the CTS wagon got the 3.6. That was all way before I could buy a car.

At least you can still get an E wagon.  Of course, a nicely equipped E450 will be 80K and an E63 120K.

If this were sold in the US I’d seriously be considering it. Our Outback is going to be replaced in a couple years.  My wife wants new and a wagon. The E-class is too rich for me and the 3-series is dying so it’s looking like the 3 options left are another Outback, a special-order V60 (the plaid seats are seriously tempting) and whatever that Buick wagon thingamajig is called.

Not exactly. It actually just fires a cylinder with the exhaust valves open. But yes, fake, tuned in for the sake of the sound.
